Ginger the cat had a hobby.
He had all sorts of places to sit down and groom;
Just out of reach of the dog on the chain,
Under the kitchen table (again),
In front of the (much used) living room door,
Under the car when it’s starting to pour,
Blocking the bedroom book-reading light,
Spread on the stairs on the very top flight,
Relaxing on clean folded sheets towels and clothes,
(Especially those where strands of ginger moult would dispose,
The humans to howling and wailing).
Ginger the cat had things to do.
He had all sorts of places to lick and to groom;
But he liked to perform his most personal cleaning,
In front of whatever was currently screening,
On the TV or Netflix or something like that,
Ginger the cat was a very clean cat.
And, his particular personal best grooming spot,
(After blocking the screen or teasing the dog),
Was the qwerty board (he liked that a lot),
Where he’d stretch out his paws and butt-write his blog.
